I spent over 30 years in this world of marketing and advertising as an Art Director and Creative Director, working for some of the best agencies in the UK. Agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis, Ogilvy, Lida, Proximity, JWT, Spark 44, McCann and Oliver to name but a very few.

Then a couple of years ago I switched career at the ripe old age of XX, an age deemed too old for the creative industry. As luck would have it, ideal for the recruitment industry simply because there is nobody better at being a creative recruiter than an ex creative.

Not going to lie, it was a tough decision, absolutely loved being a creative. Heart said stay a creative. Head said move on, you’re too old to be one.

Head said you’ve been blessed to get to nearly XX and still working for great agencies (my last freelance gig was for Ogilvy). Heart said you’ve still got lots to offer. 

But…sometimes you’ve got to let go. So I did. 

And now I’m doing it again. Heart said it’s time to go alone. Head agreed.

Who am I to argue with them both?
