is this a job you'll love

or one that you'll pass by?

Copywriter

Position: Full-time
Salary: £40k-£50k DOE

Location: London
Ref: LYJ-008

I’ve just partnered with a great branding agency and they’re looking for a copywriter to join them as soon as!

This super independent design agency is after a writer who loves creating great ideas and headlines but has brand writing experience too, from naming and messaging to TOV development.

Client Workshops are a plenty and you’ll need to be open to getting involved, and at some point leading them. If you already have that experience, even better!

Being independent there’s nowhere to hide! They’re after someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and a curiosity to learn new things. Being pro-active would be music to their ears.

You’ll be involved in the branding process from start to finish, as this agency embraces what a brand sounds like as much as what a brand looks like.

As this is a branding agency you’ll probably be from a design agency background yourself. But maybe you’re not.

Skills.

  • Conceptual thinking skills. You should be comfortable dreaming up ideas big and small, and able to articulate how they help solve a creative challenge.
  • A sharp eye for detail. You care about grammar: passive voice makes your skin crawl, and you’re always able to spot a rogue comma or misused hyphen.
  • Creative discipline. You work efficiently and effectively, unfazed even when things are at their busiest.
  • An appetite – and willingness – to learn. You’re game to get involved in whatever the team needs help with and you’re not only open to feedback, you seek it out.
  • You want to make the world a better place and are willing to get involved to make it happen. This agency do a lot of charity work to help protect the environment and bolster the local community, and you’ll be expected to join in.

What you’ll be doing.
  • Creating great ideas and headlines
  • Researching and analysing language and brands
  • Writing in a range of styles
  • Developing ‘voices’ for brands
  • Creating brand names and taglines
  • Building presentations
  • Presenting your ideas to the team and to clients
  • Running creative writing workshops
  • Writing marketing content

As a creative, your portfolio is of utmost importance, so please make sure you send me a working link to your website or a PDF of your work. If you don’t, you won’t be considered for the role.
